You will receive guidance in a holistic and evidence-based approach to caring for families feeding infants. We will discuss topics that we aren’t learning in nursing school, med school or even in some of the lactation courses. Holding space for families after birth is a deep honor and can also be heavy at times, especially in a culture that doesn’t support mothers, children and families in the postpartum time. Working in the medical system for 10 years I also experienced the lack of support for providers working to care for humans. This journey can feel lonely, and providers and space holders working with families along the birth continuum need the support of a community.
